Claire McClean Photography - Collaboration

During University, we had a networking event joining Photographers and Graphic Designers together in order to get us to collaborate. Claire Got in contact with me via email and fromt then we met to chat.

From the first conversation, we found with like similar things which made us feel more positive about collaborating. Claire had a love for neon colours and this is refelcted in here photography.

Monograms

After sitting down together and gathering these images, we decided to make a colourful (neon effect) monogram. Claire Gave me three things to go by, Colourful, Bold and abstract.

However, Claire approached me around two weeks before her final deadline, so the plan orgianlly was to experiement with screen print, but we both found it difficult to meet up due to other work commitments, so decided to screen print after the deadline and focused on other quicker ways to experiment with colour.

Moving forward I kept in mind the three main thoughts claire had in her mind and worked from them to preduce the following.

During this experimentation I was keeping in mind, how she wanted them to possibly look like neon tubiing so used bold type in order to be able to manipulate the type in the future.

Meeting for the second time, we discussed the logo designs and debated which logo, if any that she liked the most of and she choose the following, which I also agreed would work the best.

From choosing the logo it was then time to look into how we could in corporate colour, due to the dealing creeping up fast, I decided to create some digital neon/holographic effect backgrounds. From creating the backgrounds I continued to to add the colours into the logo to see what they would look like.

From this experiment, we met up and discussed the logo idea and she was really happy with the concept, from this we then experimented printing.

We then adjusted the colours and then reprinted for the final time

Overall we were both happy with the final outcome. However this project is to be further developed after the deadline. We have plans to screenprint and foil her buisness cards this next week,  to really electrify the colour impact. Overal Claire was good to collaborate with and laid back like myself and she knew what she wanted to it was simple to understand and communicated with here brief.
